I am honoured to be invited to preside over the first Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue planned for 2011, an innovative regional initiative organised by The Duke of Edinburgh’s  Commonwealth Study Conferences’ alumni.

2006 marked the 50th anniversary of the Commonwealth Study Conferences bringing together leaders from diverse backgrounds and occupations, learning from each other so that the quality of their decision making would be enhanced as they pursue their career goals.

 

Having attended a number of conferences, one thing is clear: the conference formula that brought people together over 50 years ago has stood the test of time and this Dialogue will offer participants a unique learning opportunity that will challenge their assumptions and expand their global appreciation, while listening to other points of view in a fast paced programme. I know it will be an interesting and informative Dialogue.
